Young Friends of the Symphony

Works to connect interested professionals with others through events centered on the Symphony. Offers unique events with select member invitations to autograph signings, tours of the opera and special access to the rehearsal sessions of the Kansas City Symphony.
 

 

 

Young Professionals of Kansas City Ballet

BARRE is a subscription based group for ballet followers, age 21-40 who want to get more involved in the ballet and meet other interesting people with similar interests. Organizes special happy hour events and other networking opportunities, private parties and special ticket prices.

KCFAA presents Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater and Ailey II in annual performances in Kansas City theaters. Develops and deliversyouth programming that uses the art of dance as a vehicle to improve knowledge, increase self-esteem, enhance critical thinking skills, and encourage positive role models and smart life choices. This metro wide organization is used primarily by its members to participate in recreational sports for fun and networking. The club offers softball, kickball, dodge ball, sand volleyball, flag football, soccer and men's basketball.

Kansas City Ski Club

A group of Midwest ski enthusiasts of all types – singles, couples, families, etc. – that dedicates time to the community and partakes in a lot more than just skiing! Organizes a variety of sporting events from volleyball and softball to tennis and bowling outings. In the community, spends time at Harvesters and Special Olympics events among others.

 

 

Friends of Rose Brooks

Dedicated to ending domestic violence by providing a place of shelter for abused women who are in a desperate situation. Rose Brooks has completed the Rose Brooks Dream Home complex that provides short and long term housing to abused women and their family. The group is looking for volunteers interested in ending the cycle of violence in abused women’s’ lives.

 

 

Friends of Sunflower House

Sunflower House works towards preventing and protecting children from domestic and sexual abuse. The Friends of Sunflower House use organized events to gain support and advocacy for abused children, educate the population on the destructive force that is abuse and to assist those with needs who have suffered from abusive situations.

The Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault exists to lessen the ill effects of sexual abuse and assault through prevention, education, intervention, treatment and advocacy. Volunteers can help victims of sexual assault reclaim normalcy in their lives and make the transition from being a victim of sexual abuse to being a survivor.

 

 

United Way Young Leadership Society

Ozanam Guild

A fundraising and volunteering arm of the Ozanam group, which provides therapy and treatment for struggling children and their families. Help to raise funds to support the treatment center and join a meaningful social network.
